Just wondering for those of you out there like myself that carry a personal concealment weapon which model and caliber you rely on? I'll start... I carry a Ruger P-85 9mm at the moment. It's somewhat bulky and hard to conceal unless I'm wearing a longer shirt or coat. I'll be getting an inside the wasitband holster to help combat that issue, but also looking into a smaller framed .45cal. Lets see what everyone else carry's!!!

This is a little off topic as far as concealment and defending myself from a perp. But I do carry a SW 1911 on the farm when I am feeding or performing other duties on my property. I carry it due to I have had some problems with cougars harassing my livestock. Most of the buildings that i have to access on a daily basis are federal instillations and is pointless for me to carry. Ghost

My issued duty weapons are all Glocks in 40 cal. Our main sidearm is a Glock 22 and our backup (ankle gun) is a Glock 27. I am also issued a Glock 23 for plain clothes carry. I am a detective and always work in plain street clothes and the model 23 is very easy to conceal and I always carry my 27 on my ankle. What I like most about this combination is that all of the weapon's magazines will work in the 27 and the 22's mags will also work in the 23.

Taurus Millennium Pro 140 in a .40 cal is my CCW. Short, light weight and a good all around shooter.

As a retired NYPD Police Officer I got used to carrying the 5 shot S&W chief for so long that it continues to be my favorite soft clothes gun... I always wore it in a pancake holster with a shirt over it. but for fancy days of yesteryear I had the grips with the built in hanger to hang the gun inside the pants with the plastic hanger outside the belt. I was always a firm believer in the reliability of a revolver or as the kids called them a wheel gun. when I was well into my carreer I fianlly took the plunge and switched over to the Sig P226. Big with a long trigger pull but a great shooter. I waitied till they brought a semi auto worth owning before I switched from my .38 S&W mod MP10. when they brought back the Sig I made the move. Our other choices in the NYPD was the S&W 9mm and the Glock 9 MM... The S&W was nice and a good shooter, but it was like carrying a brick the Glock had too many adjustments from the NYPD and I don't think a piece of machinery is supposed to have altercations like they were doing. So when the Sig came back, I jumped on it....

I carry a S&W 454 for protection it has enough knockdown power for a bear at just about the same distance as a 3030. Its bulky but reliable.

when I have heavy clothes on it's a 1911. Light clothes a .380 Wifes got a .380, plus a .25 in the car.
Can't wait til all states honor other states permits. Reciprocal laws should be mandatory.

Springfield Armory XD45 Service Model. I use it for home defense, but I'm working on the concealed carry permit.
