Talked to a Field Rep. from Beretta last week and Beretta is experiencing a problem with their 391 Xtrema II. Beretta owners don't worry, it is showing up in new guns and is very random "getting one is like winning the lottery". I know this because I won this particular lotto. It seems that the guns are showing up in Accokeek, MD as failure to cycle. All I know is that the gun, after the first shell is fired will not cycle the second shell. The second shell is hanging up at the breech, the spring does not have the tension to advance the shell to battery at extreme angles (for ex. over deeks at angles greater than 50 degrees). The likely cause of this problem seems to be in the machine work. When asked what Beretta is going to do about this, they stated to send the gun in and it will be replaced or repaired. The emphasis seems to be placed on replacing the gun, I hope anyway. Good thing about this problem, Beretta is not arguing about it they are taking care of it, no questions asked. The turn around is said to be 2 - 3 weeks
If someone here has a Beretta that is experiencing this problem, send it back via dealer, it will not loosen up after break in. You can send it back yourself but having a dealer that has access to the state rep for the particular company involved, could prove to be in the consumers benefit.

I work at a gun dealer/ trap skket & sporting clays range and have not heard of this problem as of yet... We did have one 391 camo that was feeding slow or jamming... Gun smith made an adjustment and it seems to be fine. One thing I can tell you for sure about the 391 is to keep it clean... especially the tube cap. If you don't clean the carbon buildup out of there and keep it greaased it will seize up on you. gunsmith just cleaned a customers and it took two days of soaking it, a lot of resin and a lead vise to break it free. One more day and he was going to start cutting it apart and ordering new parts. very important to keep grease on the end caps.
