I shoot a 308 and load 168 gr Hollow point match grade Very good accurcy and put them down hard.165 gr would work just as good i am sure.Nosler makes a well built bullet too, IMO you couldn't go wrong with either.

In a .308 a good 150 gr. or a 168 gr. works . Depending on the rate of twist might determine which weight your rifle likes best.I can't remember right now how it goes with the rate for which bullet.........JMHO

you mean like bullet weight? or manufactuer? Yes weight , type and manufacture , I won't be handloading, and also wjhat a good yardage for sighting in.

I will give you something to consider here in sighting in.
I have found that using a 60 yds mark works better for me then at 100 yds.For instance
308 150 gr Swift Scirocco at 2820 fps a 3 inch high zero at 100 yds ...bullet impact at 200 yds is 2.07 low
If you set 3 inches high at 60 yds you are dead on at 200
And the farther the distance the better the 60 yd works over the 100
The 168 gr Matchgrade hits .65 low @ 200 yds with a 3'' over @ 60 yds

I shoot a Rossi Single Shot Rifle in 308 Win, I reload my own and what works for me is ...................................... Speer 180 gr. Spitz , IMR 4895 @ 43 gr. , CCI 210 Primers , Winchester Cases. Thats what works for me in this rifle. Flat thumps them to the ground
