For the past couple of days been busting my hump. Cleared a lot of trees out and ground that hasn't seen the light of day in many many years! Almost ready for the food plot. My bro inlaw didn't come up. So I did it on my own. Someday like to put a pond in.

Nice job Scott. Lots of work for sure. Put in some hours with my Stihl down by the creek this winter at my place. Maybe I'll shoot a deer down their one of these years. At least that is the plan. Not sure if Larry takes his coffee black or with stuff in it.

I only wish I still had my Stihl. I got a poulon which actually isn't a bad saw. It does the job. Its mostly operator error. Hitting stones cutting tight to the ground kills any chain quickly. I hate stumps and root systems gotta be cut or wheeler no pull. Lol!! Terry I hope ya whack one down yonder.

Thanks. Hopefully one of these seasons I will. I've had a couple nice bucks chasing does down in my spot the last couple of seasons. Things just didn't work out to get one.

The way I see it anymore Terry is that once in awhile a little luck falls into ones lap. I actually like that constant anticipation. Then it doesn't happen. And your Sittin out there one day and the stars align. If everything happens scripted or textbook out there. Well it gets boring. Just keep watching down there. Sooner or later ones gonna make a mistake.

Ok, now you've forced me to tell my sad tale of woe on the one that got away this last season down in my spot by the creek behind my house. And this is how that went down. It was early Thanksgiving morning. The house was full of my family, all still in a deep sleep from the late night before, including myself. All of a sudden my bedroom door bursts open. Dad, Dad, there's a big buck down in the pasture says my youngest son. Now I jump up and barely know where I am. He's right down there with a bunch of does. Get you gun, get your gun, he says. Yeah get my gun. Wait a minute, I usually keep it by the backdoor, but with the grandkids here, I decided it was best to put it in my truck. So I run out the front door to my truck. Crap, its locked and I don't have a key, So I run back into the house and tell my son to get his. So he runs out to his truck and gets his rifle. So now, at least we have a rifle. So we both sneak out the front door to the East side of the house. But now the does have started to move off to the West side of the pasture taking the buck along, So we run around to the other side of the house and into the trees in the back yard alittle. There he is, there he is says my son. Here take my gun he says. Shoot! Shoot! I heard. I look and I look and I can't see anything. Crap, I forgot to put on my glasses. I give him the rifle back. Shoot him I said. Boom, Boom I heard. Did ya get him I said. I don't think so I hear. So we walk down by the trees at the edge of the pasture to look for sign. Nothing, notta. how could you miss, I ask him. It was only 135 yards at best. Well, he says, I was shaking pretty bad. Man he was big. So we both had a good laugh as we walked back to the house in our stocking feet. Another memory made.
