Well I just changed shift hours. Was starting to doubt turkey season was gonna be more than four days out of 31 to hunt. But today there was a little hope sent my way. Hours went from 7 to 3:30. To 10 am to 6:30. I have trainees starting Tuesday. So they can eventually go to a 2 to 10 second shift. I hope the company sticks with the plan. I'd rather use vacation time if I ever use it, in the summertime. I have my fingers crossed. Been an off shift worker for 25 years. I'm an early bird when it comes to hunting lol!! But work, I work harder and more ambitious while others are sleeping. And seldom if ever used vacation time and not very often took days off for years. Heck I'd hunt everyday then go to work. I was in the best shape going on 5 hrs sleep every may for years. So I'm hopeful that the current hours stick. And second comes along soon. More work gets done at the house too during summer. Don't have to cram weekends with chores.

Hope you get what you wish for Scott and wear those turkey out. I've always been more of a night owl and not an early bird, never set well with my profession. As I'm getting older finding Turkey hunting takes it's toll on me and that hunting/working combo really hurts. Larry our problem with not sleeping more than 5 or 6 hours wouldn't have any thing to do with caffeine would it?

LOL, I hear you Scott, I used to think I had to limit out or the World might end, now by the end of our 3 week season I 'm so looking forward to 8 hours sleep and if there is a tag leftover I just throw it in with my call collection to reflect on later. I bet though you have caught yourself limiting out early then taking every friend you have and calling for them just so you could keep hunting, now that's CRAZY but I'm guilty.

That's exactly what I do. If I'm done early I'm out helping friends to fill theirs. A few years back I drove an hour and 20 min one way, three days in row to help a buddy fill two tags. It was absolutely worth it. I was hearing birds hammer all was well. But the past several seasons I have found myself sitting back and letting others shoot. Holding onto a tag or two for late season. Or its like when I decide to be the shooter. I will tell who ever I'm with today's my day to drop the hammer. Unless the person I'm with hasn't taken one yet. I just love hearing them and working them. That's what makes turkey season to me.

Good luck with that shift change Scott. I always hated them. I always liked to go to work as early as possible.
