My son came up and we cranked about 50 lbs of sausage. Half from his mule deer and half from my whitetail. Was a lot of fun making it with him .

Heck no any deer will do!! Lol! I don't do very well with jalapeƱos or onions unless I pop a zantac. But believe me I do like them. And sausage link s loaded with that sounds way too good!!

The great thing about making your own sausage, is that you can put in anything you want. I've made some using Jack Daniels. It was pretty good also.

Now that sounds good!! Fun part about processing your own game is you can try all kinds of different recipes. I'm always trying something from fish, turkey , and deer. The ones that aren't so great ya never do again. Lol!

Looks fantastic and I can smell the smoker just by looking at the picture. So Terry, how well does your stuffer work for you and what brand/size is it? Looks like it has the crank on the side and screw in the center, that has to be the better set up looks like. I use my electric grinder and it's really a 2 man job and not near as safe. If I make any this year it is going to be a real small batch, only have about 10 lbs from my Grandsons bow deer.

It is a Montgomery Wards, so I imagine it is not available anymore. It was a Christmas gift one year from my parents. It does work well for stuffing, but it does take some muscle to turn the crank. I believe some of the newer stuffers have a much better cranking mechanism than this one. I have an electric one also, but its far to slow to use when you are making a lot of sausage. You can put out a lot of sausage in short order with this one.

Glad to hear the stuffer works well, sure misjudged the age of it. Bet your right, they probably wouldn't sell it these days but I did get a small catalog from Montgomery Wards last week, first one in many years, I did not know they were still in business. I have not heard good reviews on the stuffers that are shaped like a cow horn with the handle that presses down on a plate, like a piston in a cylinder. Have to bolt them down they say, bypass problems and few other things that make the lower price seem high sooner than later. I better just keep saving and get one like you have.

Steve, if I had to buy another stuffer, I believe I would give serious consideration to the LEM 15 lb. Stainless steel vertical stuffer. Looks like it is available on Amazon. You will enjoy making sausage with your grandson.
