My buddy John and I have shared many at times unbelieveable hunts. We had a hunt one year I'll never forget. The first day we hunted this area we had a gobbler that hung up on us at about 9:00. He never showed after we waited on him til the noon quitin time. The next morning, neither one of us bothered to watch the weather channel. As we were heading up there the wind wasn't bad down low. Once we got up high it was just rippin. Light came a tad bit later. The skies were dark, and all you could hear was trees slappin together, and some snappin off in the distance. We got up to the corner of this field, just inside the woods. I gave out the loudest calls i could with the mouth call.A gobbler lit into us from 80 yds.The wind basically blew his gobbles to us. It was pretty open so John sat right next to the nearest tree. I slipped back down and over a little knoll some 40 yds away from his set up. I couldn't hear the bird gobble at all from my spot. I could hardly see John. So i was just blind calling. With the wind i figured I'd call pretty aggressive.Until i heard the shot. After a few minutes,I called and finally heard him gobble. Two seconds later BOOM!! the bird weighed 22 lbs,had 5 beards, and 1 1/2 spurs. The longest beard was 9 3/4.not sure where the pics are?? but if i find them I'll post em!

Great story Scott. And ya know, it is always quite special when you are hunting with a good friend like your buddy John. Its like ya really know what the other person is going to do. Thats kinda fun, especially when it actually works, like it did here. Thanks for sharing.
