Always kinds neat to get a banded bird. That is an old bird for sure.

That is so interesting to me to take a banded bird, never have done that myself, your friend does seem to be having some special luck.
My son took a banded duck last fall on a private duck lake 3 miles West of my house here in North East Mo, when the results came back,the duck had been banded in Sask, Canada 3 days before he shot it. The birds bad luck proved how fast and far they can move out when they take a notion to head South. In the case of your friends bird, that old fella has put a lot of miles on his wings in that length of time. All good information,whether it be a couple days or years.

He's been shootin some unique wildlife this year! Told him he needs to quit it!
