Have never used it. I have used a powder called C More Bucks. It worked really good for me when added to corn. It smells just like blueberry muffin mix. Thought I might try eating some of it myself someday

If it is the mineral made by the same company as Deer Cocaine, it will work. It takes the deer a while to get use to the smell. Minerals work best in the Springs. Come back next springs and see if the area is being used.

Baiting is illegal in this part of the world. So don't know much about this stuff. Sure hope though that you find something that works.

Never heard of it until you said you were trying it 4pointer, like 8pt172 said, better watch it for awhile. My family & friends plant all kinds of food plots and use mineral/salt licks, we are scattered about 110 miles apart here in North Mo. When using something in Plots besides corn and soybeans, we have found that deer in one area might tear something up but on another farm a few miles away they may never touch it. Three years ago we planted turnips sold by Hunter's Specialties, they were all planted on the 25th of July. The deer on one farm never let them get above 3 inches tall, not one turnip ever developed. On my farm they did not eat them much until after Jan 1st, temps went below zero and they cleaned them up in 4 days, my turnips were thick & the size of softballs ,covering 2 acres. On my stepdad's farm near the Mo river they never touched them at all, not one and there were never any deer tracks in the patch, they walked around them. Everyone in his town had all the turnips they could eat, they were delicious. To this day if you mention turnips to my stepdad he looks at ya kinda angry.

Anything that is used that states it is loaded with minerals, like deer cain. Usually will not work as well in the fall as it states. It really does its best in the spring, thats when deer are needing the minerals for the fawns and for antler growth. I did a little test to somewhat prove this theory. I went to the local feedstore and bought a salt bock and a mineral block. Salt and mineral blocks contain most of the same ingredients that you find on products such as deer cane and other mineral supp. like this, with some minor variation, but they are basically the same. I put these blocks out in the fall and noticed very little traffic around them, if any at all.
Then took the same blocks and put them out in early to mid spring and everything in the woods seemed to be hitting them. I don't know what it is but the mineral type baits only get a great deal of attention during the spring.
Don't get me wrong I am sure these types of baits do work in the fall in certain areas, but I have never seen it.
