Any suggestions for a slug gun shooter for a good long range and accurate shooting slug?
Last year I used the Remington Core Lokt sabot out of my Mossberg 835 Ulti Mag using the cantilever scope mounted rifled barrel. I got great groupings and was able to effectively reach out to 125 yards pretty consistently.
This year, I'm going back to my 1100 and am going to place a scope on it. The gun shoots great with the Winchester Super X slugs... but with an effective range out to about 90 yards and then the groupings start to get a little whacky. That said, I'm considering the Remington Core Lokt again, but the shells are $20 a box of 5! A little too expensive for me for shotgun shells!
I'd like to be able to reach out to about 150-175 yards with this shotgun and would like some suggestions for slugs that are capable of consistent tight groupings at that range with an affordable price tag that comes with it.
Any ideas?

You might want to give Lightfields a try. I have heard a few comments on how good they hold up at longer ranges before they start to tumble. I guess 150 to 200 yd shots aren't out of the question.
