Not sure which choke would be a good fit for your 500. I would do some research. comp-n-choke,I think another one is indian river chokes?? or somethin Indian. not sure what my buddy has. But he gets some good patterns at 45 to 50 yds! sorry i couldn't help ya out more than that. But experiment is the best advice i could give. Good luck with your gun my friend!

If It were me, I would look at modified or improved modified choke before I would go to a full. Your pattern will be a little more open and you will not loose to much of the distance that you would normally get with a full. That is, if you are looking for winged upland game.

Is there anything else out there that will give you the same performance as the moss. chokes. Yes and probably a smige better, Briley, Tru-Lok, Indian Creek, ect. there are several great aftermarket manufacturers out there. But, like any shotgun/choke combonation, you are going to have to pattern the choke to the shot/load and the gun. No, one, choke is a cure all. Every choke and load combination will give you a different result. Its up to you to find the one combination that fits with the performance that you are looking for. If you are looking for upland only, I would start with Briley and Tru_Lock and compare the choke constrictions, that you choose, from these two first off. If you consider Tru-Lock, call them and talk with George. Let him know what you have and what you are looking for and he will hook you up with the best options. Oh, and if he does make some sugestions, listen to him. He knows his stuff.
