I've got an old commercial 1911 me and that my grandfather left me when he passed away. I was curious of the value. I looked up the serial number and according to the internet it was on of the first Post-War 1911's manufactured in 1946. The C stamping is still before the serial number. My paps always told me it was in 95%+ condition. I can take some pics and post if you guys need them to confirm. Does anyone know what a pistol like this would be worth. I would never sell it, gonna keep it in the family and pass it on to my son one day, but the curiosity is getting me and I don't have a Blue Book of gun values. Thanks

It's a Colt 1911 Government Model serial number is "C220740" I looked up the serial number and the website I found said it was 1946 started the 220000 numbers and the C being Commercial Issue. If you want some pictures it will be tomorrow before I can get them on here, but I'll be happy to oblige.
