What a great caliber that is. To help answer your question about recoil. You mentioned you would like to soften it up more. Not sure what you have done to soften it so far, but there are a couple of things you can do. The first being to replace your recoil pad with one of the new decelerator pads. I see that Remington even makes one for there firearms called the Super Cell. Limbsaver also has some fine recoil pads. Quite a few others advertise recoil reducing pads also. Another way to reduce recoil, would be to shoot reduced loads. Not sure why one would want to do that though. Have fun shooting that new .270.

I'm not quite so sure, but if you get a decent recoil pad that should do it.
With one recoil pad, I once shot a 10 gauge and it felt like a .22 caliber.

There is a great dea out there to do what you are wanting to do but they all cost some amount of money. What are your reasons for wanting soften it up?

Unless you have a shoulder problem. I wouldn't see a need to soften the recoil on a 270. You can fit it with a SVL recoil pad and resonator for the barrel. If your to the point where your flinching when you shoot. And maybe it's causing your pattern to be erratic. you can go with all of the above and reduce your trigger pull. Just an idea. good luck with your 270. Good gun for sure!

I would also try Remingtons new Managed recoil loads. My younger cuz has used them and has had good success.

Find a huntin buddy with a 7MM try a half box and you will think your 270 is pleasant to shoot. My 2 cents
