Good lookin dog. When we grouse hunted we used Setters or Brittanys. Had one setter that in 13 yrs huntin him he NEVER busted or bounced a bird. Had some FLUSH wild at 40 or 50 yds but never in close.

Good lookin dog. When we grouse hunted we used Setters or Brittanys. Had one setter that in 13 yrs huntin him he NEVER busted or bounced a bird. Had some FLUSH wild at 40 or 50 yds but never in close. She stays close enough most of the time.where the birds arent too far out. Grouse up here dont like to hold tight that often. They are constantly on needles and pins. And they do alot of tree dwelling also. Sadie is a nut when it comes to waterfowl. But grouse is just a walk more or less. She'll retrieve whatever i shoot most of the time. Setters, I love huntin with them. Particularly english setter pointers! Great dogs!
