Howdy guy's ,I have a Kimber custom II that I am wanting to do some functional as well as cosmetic upgrades to.What I would like to do is install an ambi safety, extended slide release, oversize mag release, and maybe some of the pins.I would like to get them in a gold anodized color.I hve looked at a bunch of sites ,But no gold color .I can find Hard Chrome, stainless.Guess I will have to go with one of those.Could get them gold plated but at $40.00 per piece min. plus gold plating does not hold up well that's just a little to pricey.Always liked the look of a 1911 with contrasting parts.Anybody got any ideas on where to find these parts?Thanks............Alton

Give me some time and I will research this for you. I have a few conections. This could take a few days to a week to find what you are looking for. What function upgrades are you looking at doing? Explain to me what pins are. Be patient on the gold anodize, let me look around and see what I can come up with. Are you against shipping the firearm off to a gunsmith?

www.jardinescustom.com/Lets start here. Give them a call and talk with them about what you a looking to do to your 1911. If they can not do or give you the servecies that you desire, ask them if they know someone who does deal in custom anodized aluminum parts for the M1911.

I will further research this for you. What are you wanting anodized? From what little research that I have done it seems that what you are wanting seem very possible to do. We just need to find the right people for the job. Call these companys that I have listed and talk with them. You might just have to send them the parts that you are wanting to have anodized. I will be back on a little later this evening to check back on this post. I will make a few phone calls once we talk a little more about this subject.

Hey ghost,Thanks for the help. After further research I think I am just going with stainless parts ( small parts)slide stop, mag release, thumb safety, that will be ambi seeing's how I'm a lefty..Called the Kimber custom shop,They will do everything I want for about $400.00.That includes milling the slide for low profile adjustable sights installed and refinishing where they cut. Can't get it done anywhere cheaper.Got an older Beretta that is two toned like the contrast. Not real big on the 92s but had to have that one ..LOL I guess the Kimber MIM parts will be O.K. Anyway thanks for all of your help.
