Successful woods hunt. We were invited to Georgia to hunt with a friend and we did get on one.
Well this was my son and my first fruitful trip to the woods! We are GREATFUL TOO! As a person that will remain nameless said... we felt like we might be jinxed! Ol' Brent Jr. said this to me as well. I assured him that like many sports I have taken, it is a matter of bide your time!We arrived as planned to great Weather as was seen the day before on radar. WITH THE BLACKEST OF CLOUDS 10-12 MINUTES TO OUR WEST HEADED IN FAST! 'Ripper had told me when I said we had great weather for sure, " I would like a little rain to settle the dust and cool down for the dogs and the scent will be easier for the dogs to pick up." Well 'Ripper, I Guess you got your WISH!!! We went out "to scout" with Bo and Bull. We left nephi at the dog yard, as it was to scout and Ripper did not yet see enough from the Notorius Nephi to decide on him around the other dogs. The dog worked the woods in different spots for an hour or less when she yipped 3 good ones, I ready to bolt when ripper calls me back. She yipped like this again and Ripper called me off. On the third 3 yipps, she bayed hard. He told my boy to drop Bull on the ground, 20 seconds later it was "CAUGHT HOG" and I as well my boy got our first taste of Georgia Briars at deadlock sprint. The pic of the 2 dogs are not ours, the one of my boy on the tailgate is our dog "Nephi" He is all pit and ALL CATCH! He won't be a year until the last week of august. Brent
