Here is a very nice set of sheds after they were mounted ,just thought I'd share a pic with you all . They were found by my friend on two different days ,about 125 yards apart .He found the first one and was pretty nervous until he found the 2nd antler the next day .It has 13 points , but as a main frame 8pt scores over 180 with no spread . The longest pts are 16 3/4 inches long . The cape used for this mount came from a 250 lb buck and the form is very large . This is not the best angle for a pic but shows the points best .

Kinda reminds me of a Muley's rack! Awsome mount! Great detail. Makes the mount "unique". ;D

It is kind of an odd shaped rack for a North Mo whitetail . When these sheds were mounted they used a pair of knuckles that are made just for this purpose .The knuckles can be adjusted in an infinite number of settings so the proper spread and angle can be obtained since there is no skull plate . The taxidermist that mounted it knew the correct position in relation to the eyes ,nose ect , so this is the end result . I kept this pair of sheds at my place for over 6 months and noticed that while I held them if I changed the angle just slightly they would gain 3-4 inches of inside spread , although tempting to do that I'd say they were mounted correctly.
Something I find interesting about this deer along with it's size is the fact that these sheds were found in a fairly populated area , but this deer was never seen that we know of . The area is heavily hunted and no one ever mentioned even a glimpse , no trail cam pics , just his sheds he left behind . They were found in the early 90's so the old buck lived his life close to farmers and hunters but managed to outwit everyone. So much for trophy whitetails being easy to kill!
