The chat room is closed right now anyway, but you should still be able to get to it. It will tell you that it is closed and to try again later.
Did you get to that point?

That's all it's supposed to do when it's not activated and open for chatting. You should be fine when we have it open.

Have you downloaded the latest version of Java?... Internet security settings may be an issue as well. Try going into your internet options and checking the level of secruity on your system's browser. Click Here to go to a Java troubleshooting page. It's a little interactive and may help answer some questions. Also, here are some quick troubleshooting tips to help you: - If you have a firewall on your network, check with your system administrator to ensure that port 4001 is open.
- If prompted with a security warning page, select the "trust" or "grant always" option.
- Ensure that your browser security setting are set to medium or low and set to to allow cookies.
- For IE, click Tools -> Internet Options.
From the Privacy tab move the security slider to "Accept All Cookies".
- Clear your browser cache.
- For IE, click Tools -> Internet Options.
From the General tab, click "Delete All Files" under the Temporary Internet Files section. Clear your cookies.
- For IE, click Tools -> Internet Options.
From the General tab, click "Delete Cookies" under the Temporary Internet Files section.
- Go to the futuresource page, www.fsxtra.com/help/check.asp to check your browers compatibility.
- If your browser does not support JVM or has a Java version older than 5.0, please upgrade your browser to (or install any service packs for) the latest version avialable at www.microsoft.com.

Okay Ryan, I know I gave you a bunch of crap about this, but what did you do to my computer? Now I can't get in! It's doing the very same thing yours was! I just don't get it!

Ok, I'm going to need to have you guys give me some information: What browser are you using? What are your internet security settings set to? Do you have the latest version of Java enabled? Is your firewall blocking your access to the chat room? What is the chat room doing? Is it just black, does it just say loading? How long are you waiting? Did you try using the diagnostic test link that is listed above? I'm just trying to figure out what the the two have in common here so that we can identify the issue. I don't think anyone else is having this issue. If so, please let me know so that we can get it figured out. Thanks.

I'm using Internet Explorer.
Security is set to Medium.
I do have the latest Java.
I turned my firewall completely off.
It goes through the loading bar, then just goes to black.
I've waited several minutes.
I did try the test link.
I had no problems on my personal laptop. It was my work laptop giving me the trouble, although I WAS previously able to get on with that computer.

I think I found the problem and created a new one. I had Java 1.5 and when I right clicked and updated it said it was the most recent. I went to there site and see a version 5 update 11 or something like that. I try to install it and it says I have to delete the previous version. I try but the computer wont let me. So I restart the computer and can down load and install the new version. Now when I try to do the test with the grey boxes it closes all the open windows and I have to get back on to the internet. Also it tells me the pathway is not correct. So now I am going to work on that. Any ideas? thanks
