R&S Memebers, Moderators, and Administrators,
If you are absolutely sick of spywarre hijacking your computer, there is free help. You have been "hijacked" if that same, annoying pop-up window appears every time you are in your internet browser and all attempts to get rid of it have failed. I have been testing around 10 different packages (some in the "beta" versions from the authors) and found 2 excellent anti-spyware software packages.
1. The first one is called Ad-Aware SE Personal and can be downloaded at www.download.com/3000-2144-10045910.html?part=69274&subj=dlpage&tag=button Once you have the program downloaded, you'll need to update it and change a few program settings for it to be most effective. Rather than type a lengthy explanation, I am providing the following link to a Dell Computer anti-spyware forum. User "ALgal" has posted a series of instructions for great success removing spyware and Trojan-viruses (the kind Norton and MacAffee are known to miss!). Here's the link and just follow the instructions in the post. I have tried this out on my PC and it works wonderfully.
The link: forums.us.dell.com/supportforums/board/message?board.id=si_hijack&message.id=12339 Scroll all the way down to see ALgal's post and instructions.
2. Download Spybot: Search & Destroy at www.download.com/Spybot-Search-Destroy/3000-8022-10122137.html?part=dl-spybot&subj=dl&tag=but. Again, pay attention to ALgals instructions on most effective set-up parameters.
Here's the link to her instructions again: forums.us.dell.com/supportforums/board/message?board.id=si_hijack&message.id=12339 The program is straight forward and should be run in addition to Ad-Aware SE Personal.
You'll be surprised at all the "crap" these program catch on your PC. Again, this is freeware. Enjoy your disinfection. -[glow=red,2,300]Sloppy Snood R&S Technical Support[/glow]
