This is the first buck that I took.It was taken in Janurary 2 1997.I was hunting with my borther-in-law.We were hunting in Yellow Creek,Alabama. This between Tuscalusca,Ala. and Jasper,Ala..This Yellow Creek is creek that runs into the Black Warrior River. It weight approx over 200 lbs.A nice 7 pointer.I took the buck with my 270 cal. Browning BAR.I took the deer at 3:45 P.M.I guess you can tell I was a happy camper.I was grinning like a possom eating poup on the side of the road. The picture was kinda dark.I did not shot the deer at night.LOL

I guess with the 92 degree weather today it is hard to get folks to talk about deer hunting. But the deer are still there and it is time to start to be tihnking about wear to hang those tree standings.I am soon!

Well I don't have to sweat that..no place to put a tree stand in West Texas..ha!Ha!
Built my new ground blind about a month ago. 6'x6' with sliding windows...on top of a noll overlooking about a 50 acre CRP and Wheat field..cannot WAIT!! I am also throwing out soybean & corn in a feeder near there..don't shoot them under or near the feeder (no sport in that crapola)..this is more to give them some nutrients and protein that they need out in this dry azzed climate.
Two mineral blocks too!

That is a fine first deer! I know that its hard to think about deer hunting when its 90+ degrees... NOT!!! I was out scouting the other day and already have two stands hung!!! I am getting ready to post a pic of two bucks that are showing potential this early in the year. Congrats again!
