Several years ago I started harvesting bucks that were above average, but yet not exactly what I would spend several hundred dollars on for a mount. Nonetheless, they were too nice to just stick on a board, so I started experimenting and doing research on European Mounts. Then a lot of my buddies wanted me to give them directions and tips so that they could do it themselves. Which brought me to where I am now; typing up a detailed step by step set of directions with pictures. I just thought I'd share my method with a larger crowd. Below is a link to my personal webpage and the pdf document. Some parts of the site are still under construction, so I appologize for any inconvenience, but the page that has the pdf document on does work. However, if by some chance the document does not come up send me a message with and e-mail address and I can send a copy directly to you. Also if you have any questions about any steps let me know and I can help you. www.personal.psu.edu/jjm5064/www_copy/PDF's/Taxidermy%20101%20How%20To.pdf As a side note the first year I attempted a European Mount a friend of my dad took his to a taxidermist which charged him $150 for a job that wasn't all that different than my first one. Talk about jealousy.... Shoot Straight!!!

As an update: The website has been nearly completed. Below is a current link to my page. When the page comes up, scroll to the bottom, and click on the link that says Taxidermy 101: European Mount. www.personal.psu.edu/jjm5064/www_copy/Forestry.htmEnjoy!!

Thanks for posting the info. European mounts are pretty darn nice and doing it yourself would make it especially memorable. -KT
