lake keystone here in oklahoma, I got him on about a 7" live shad while fishing for blue cats on memorial weekend last summer, we found a ledge where i figured the blue cats would be and went back the next morning and one of the jugs was about 250 yards south of where we set it and we pulled it in, it was so exausted he was barely alive and didnt fight at all, i think when we were getting the hook off just that length of time killed him, but i have heard that they dont usually get that big in that lake cause it gets to hot in the summer around there.. but i was lucky enough to catch one, it really sucks that i got it on a jug line i would give anything to of caught him on rod an reel.. the taxidermists name is kenneth bauman from anadarko oklahoma, www.geocities.com/kennethbauman/Bauman_s_Taxidermy_.htmllook him up he's awesome.. he does competition deer mounts too, i seen 2 elk that he had done down there and they were awesome..

I used to live in Sand Springs....just down the river from the Keystone Dam. Spent a lot of time on the lake....and below the dam in the tail-race. Lots of big stripers taken below the dam....and I took my share as well.....nothing like chasing a big striper down the rocks down river when they were releasing water in order to get him landed!!!! More than once I had a big fish on....could feel him just shake his head and go under the rocks and boulders and break me off!!!
That is where I first saw guys with remote control boats putting their shad rig on the boat...and then run it up next to the dam when they were not letting water out....and then pull the bait off the boat when it got to the bottom of the dam. They would just control the boat back over to them.....then fish the bait they "dropped" next to the dam.....pretty cool.
I know the lake has big cats in it as well.....we would camp on the lake for the weekend.....and I would set out trot lines and sack up the blues, channels and flatheads and could come away with 100lbs of meat for the freezer. Always had fish all winter. Great lake to fish black bass, small mouth bass and crappie too. Great all around lake to fish.

Great striper, and a great mount, but then with Ken Bauman doing it it would have to be great, I was a member of the Okla taxidermy association at one time and met Ken and a lot of others, Ken is a good man to get to do your work.
