Very nice mount! That bird looks huge...is it a 'Jumbo' or a very large wild pheasant?

it was pen raised but just your stander ring neck . i had two that were a little bigger than the rest .i think they fluffed it up some . i gave one to a buddy and of course i kept this one . i figured if i was going to pay to have one mounted it was'nt going to be a wild one that i shot a bunch of feathers out of .i've shot a few but by the time the dog gets it back to me there a mess . so i cheated .

Smart move...the better the bird, the better the mount. I have customers bring in shot up birds, broken wings, missing feathers, etc. and it's harder to make the mount look good when they're all banged up like that.

nockbuster,
If you just want the fan or back mount, it isn't that hard to do yourself. Just get Todd Triplett's Turkey Taxidermy book. It explains the process pretty well.
A full body or breast mount, would be best left to the pro's, but there is good information on field care in Todd's book as well. I just got a copy for $7 at Amazon.com's second-hand bookstore.
