Anyone who does taxidermy knows that you keep learning new things on every mount you do, so I'm sure that your next squirrel will be much improved.
How did you learn to do taxidermy? Did you take a class or learn on your own?
If you have any questions feel free to ask and we'll try to help you out.
Can't wait to see the pics. Good luck.

Before you start your next squirrel find as many close up pictures of a squirrel as you can. You can look in hunting/outdoor mags, in books or on the net. Keep these 'reference pictures' at hand while you mount your squirrel. Then when you are working on the ears, eyes, paws etc. you can compare to the pictures you have. Try to 'copy' the picture as you do the mount. It's much better to have the pics right there for reference than to try to rely on your memory of what a squirrel looks like.
Good luck----Let us know how it turns out.

www.danchase.com/CATALOG.HTMHere is a link to the Dan Chase catalog. They have videos that show you how to mount almost any animal. There are several on squirrels. These videos are excelent and I have learned a great deal from them. I look forward to seeing some of your work. You can also get a ton of reference pictures by going to google and do a image search on whatever animal you want. Yahoo also has a good image search. Sometimes you can find pictures of a specific animal area like "squirrel eye" or "squirrel nose". If you have any questions please feel free to contact me anytime. Good luck and God bless.

Congrats on starting a fine occupation. Once you have one you're happy with be sure to enter it in a taxidermy competition.
