I may just be missing it but it would be interesting to see a thread started on how many stands are stolen . I had one come up missing sometime between late archery and yesterday. It was locked to the tree and was missing the climbing stick at the bottom so they had to jump to the 8' limb or have a buddy system. Also, the stand was deep in the woods so they found it and came back or just had bolt cutters in their pocket either way someone was a real 3==D .

eapierce , I know from past posts on here you are not alone .Sounds like 4pointer has been hit extra hard. Shouldn't make a difference but was your stand on public or private land? I have about 15 stands up year around but haven't lost one yet . They are on land I own but if one would get taken I'll spend a lot of time looking for the thief cause that sure is a low down thing to do. I try to mark my cameras and stands with my name in several places so that a thief will feel miserable every time he tries to use it .Sorry for your loss , hope you catch them.

This past season I had a ladder stand completely taken apart but then they must of found the chain and lock on the top and left. I put all the straps back on and have not had a problem since. All my ladder stands are on private property... I have caught tresspassers on trail cams but only got one in person and I caught him in my ladder stand hunting... He tried to climb out as I pulled p on my quad. I have 42 acres to hunt a few I own the rest adjoin my property, it is tough to have private land to hunt on Long islland with permission... I never went onto posted land before I bought this piece and just feel I deserve the same respect I show others... But to tresspas, hunt your stand and then get them stolen, man I would really be crazy if I caught that POS...

I know a guy that had a ladder stand stolen and found it on the neighbors property. He placed a trail-cam nearby to catch the thief coming back. The trail cam didn't need a flash. After giving the picture of the thief to the local Sheriff and plastering his mug all over town ... the local TV news room picked up on it, and well, case closed!
