I got so mad this evening I just had to make a comment!
I was on my ATV traveling my country road from one farm to another to check on my cows when I rounded a corner and saw trash strung for 75 yards. It was mostly Mcdonalds sacks, pop cans and 3 beer bottles.
It is so obvious that it was intentionally thrown out on purpose.I spend most of my off time in the summer planting food plots, planting trees and improving my land for wildlife.I have been mowng the road right of way lately and don't care for beer bottles and cans to come flying out the back of my mower not to mention the sickening sound of them crushing under my tires.
Just last week I had to replace a rear tire ,cost was 600.00 dollars so why the H--- can't people respect their country side enough to put their trash in the proper place ,like a trash can at the nearest gas station .
I can't figure out the type of person doing this,is it a neighbor on my road that doesn't care, someone out for a drive in the beautiful countryside ,some kids out cruising,or God forbid someone claiming to be a sportsman?Whomever it is ,I'd like to tell them in person that I don't want their trash ,I don't want to see it and I don't want to pick it up and haul it away ,I already have plenty of work to do!
It is a fact that I have little to no traffic all summer on my 5 miles of gravel road but as soon as we have a change of season here come the people to gawk at our crops ,hayfields, livestock, timber and wildlife.I have given up on anyone ever stopping and offering to help in return for permission to go hiking, hunting or fishing and I'm willing to work hard for what I have and enjoy but I don't want to pick up trash in my spare time that someone else threw out their window.H-LL if I do get some spare time I just might go hunting so I can look back and enjoy my years worth of work.
