You hate when other won't allow you to hunt on their land? That's funny. I hate it when folks hunt on my property without permission, and aren't responsible enough to respect what God has given us. All too often I find trash from their lunches, their field dressing gloves laying beside a tree, or worse yet, animals who have been left to die from a bad shot. I know that not everyone does this, and I'm willing to allow others to hunt my property, but I expect them to be adult enough to ask permission, and they have to follow our rules. Perhaps the owner of this "posted" property has also been burned by unethical hunters. I also hate it when unethical hunters give the rest of us a bad name.

I got to say I respect them. Every property owner has the right to do this and from my experience there is a very small percentage of so called "hunters" that have caused them to get more prevalent. Slobs and litigations are big issues and while I respect someones right to post them I also know that when I ut a lot of effort in a property I don;t need idiots wondering around screwing it up. It's a two way street. It amazes me the number of folks who have no regard for other peoples property. When stands Etc dissappear from posted property it's even worse. It amazes me how brazen some can be in disrespecting others property.

Whatever happened to the brotherhood of hunters and the respect we used to have for one another? Doesn't it mean anything anymore to share in a common bond and show respect for another man's property, whether it be his land or his personal items (like tree stands, etc.). I always felt it was like an unwritten oath that hunters took to always be respectful of each other and look out for each other's property. I guess the world is changing and it has become a sad state of affairs. It's a shame that some people's disregard for the word respect and what it means leads to giving the rest of us a bad name.

Yeah... idk, i've been denied permission 3 times this year to hunt some good land. I'm almost 100% sure it was also because i'm in highschool. The owner told me one guy already hunts out there, but yet a week later someone told me that they're friend (who was an adult) was given permission after me. I can't wait until i'm older so i'll get a little more respect along with a few more places to hunt.

You see alot of them POSTED SIGNS here in Jersey, 9 out of 10 I've ask said they leased it out to a Large Hunting Club, The private ground I got to hunt on in 06 for turkeys only was because his daughter & my daughter was best friends.. I respect everyone's ground, we hunt State Gound ~ eat lunch & everything & you won't find nothing left behind,,Even had a Warden stop & tell us how thankful he was the way we keep the place clean & wished everyone would do the same..

It's all pretty much cut and dry to me. If it says keep out, then it means just that. Whatever reasons the land owner has are irrelevant. It's their land not mine and they have the right to Dennie entry and it don't matter why, All that matters is they own it and you don't, bottom line. So we respect their space and move on.

Our farm is posted. Cows shot, barn and sheds shot, house shot, stands stolen, stand damaged to hurt the next person who climbs it, fences cut, crop damage. Thats just off the top of my head. We pay the taxes and work it so why should I allow joe blow to come and reap the benifets of my families sweat and blood. We only allow familiy to hunt and very few of them.
Plus in pa the property owner is responisible for the hunters on their prop. Also responsible for where the hunters bullets land.

.....'nuff said? N0 OFFENCE SWAMP THING BUT IT LOOKS LIKE YOU STIRRED UP A HORNETS NEST /LOL I think you're missing his point... I think what he's sayin (at least how I perceive his point to be) is that it sucks not to be able to hunt what you would consider prime land when you see posted signs. I know that I have seen several posted signs that were holding plenty of great game and only wishing I could hunt there... which makes me hate seeing the signs too lol. I think that's what he was getting at but I may be wrong?

I was just giving the perspective of the property owner. Believe me, there's some prime land out there that I'd LOVE to get my bow on! **sigh**

Whatever happened to the signs that have the "ASK PERMISSION" stickers applied to the posted signs?
I certainly can understand why people post their lands after having livestock killed and buildings shot up, land littered with trash, etc. The people that do those kinds of things are ignorant low lifes...spoiling it for all including themselves. When I'm allowed as a guest on other people's land, I leave nothing behind but boot tracks...hopefully a few gobbler feathers--(I even take my empty cartridges out.).
One time in the early years of turkey hunting here in Northern NY, I saw a old, concrete silo with the message painted on it in big red letters: "NO TURKEY HUNTING--DON'T ASK!!!"
Current Posted signs are designed so DAMNED HOSTILE (no wonder considering some of the land abuses I've heard of)....and I really hate bothering people that aren't going to give you permission anyway. It's a waste of their time and my time to even try asking...."ASK FIRST" stickers applied to posted signs are an excellent alternative.
Maybe if land owners were given a reasonable tax break on their land if they allowed hunting? Which brings to mind hunting clubs that lease their land....that's really GREAT...IF you belong to the hunting club. I've been shut out of land because of hunting clubs taking over land that I have hunted. It's very disenheartening.
Next year, I plan on returning to hunt State Lands...I'm hoping the posted lands that harbor great populations of game will spill over to State Lands.
BTW, If I want to (with "public safety" in mind)--pull over on a public highway and glass some birds on "Posted Land" to observe their behavior...I will continue to do it-I don't think I'm breaking any laws and I'm not being unethical. The landowner doesn't own the road (or the game) for that matter---I was told by a game warden once that fish & game belong to people of the State-the landowner only owns the land controls access to it).
It's no wonder that hunting and fishing license sales have been declining.
Time to "Move On"!
Never give up!
