I guess I'll chalk this up to a hunters helping non-hunters thread.
THis issue bothers me. No Hunting on Sundays. I live in Virginia and am retired from 20 years of service in the military defending freedoms in this country. Only to come home and have some hard headed fools tell me I don't have the freedom as an adult to choose if I want to go afield on a Sunday. The arguments are that folks should be in church and spending time with family and that it gives the game a day of rest as well as gives land owners a day to check stock and fences and such. Hmmmm. I wonder how that poor land owner is to find time to worship and spend time with his family if he has to tour his property on Sundays. Anyway, I fully support someones right to decide to take Sunday and spend with their family worshiping, in fact I fought so they could have the freedom to do that. Don't you think time spent with loved ones in the field, regardless of the day is about as quality as it gets? Think about that. Folks work all week and some on saturdays. For the most part, those hours spent at work are certainly not with family. Now we have hunters telling hunters what little time they have to spend with their family will be dictated by others religious convictions. Now I have no issue with folks wanting to worship in anyway they choose. But when the way they choose affects my freedom to choose I have issue with that. Now I said all that to say this.
I am a member of the Virginias Deer hunters Association and they fight the good fight against the nons and legislation against hunting right. For the most part, this is a good organization that does yearly surveys to the members regarding positions. here is a link to yet the latest survey to their members. Remember this is hunters answering these questions.

Question 26 covers the sunday hunting issues.
I ask you this, look at #26 A and E and tell me what you think the membership desires are. I asked the Associaition but never go ta reply.
You might think it doesn't matter but this is a dog hunting state as well. If you look at question 15 you will see the margain on that is close as well and a HUGE!!! debate here too. But I would add if the dogs didn't run the deer to death here 24/7 maybe there wouldn't be a need to give the wildlife a day off.... but that is another debate. Let me tell you, when gun comes in and the dog boxes come out, the odds of seeing a deer during daylight hours without a dog on it's a$$ is slim to none. I mainly bow and black powder hunt and leave the gun woods to the guys who like to feed their dogs on Sundays.
