Yep, I done got my treestand stolen from me. I just don't know what to say. I feel it to be my fault for being foolish enough to leave the climber in there, but I hadn't really run into many hunters during the season. It's a lease that I hunt on so I figured that probably would play into it and for the fact that no one would know who's it was would leave it alone. Guess I was wrong in believing in the good in us sportsmen. I mean, don't get me wrong... everyone here is my brother. But damn! I mean, this is just BS!! To do this to one another is just low... being a THEIF is just low... and it had to be premeditated because I had THICK cable lock around it so BOLT cutters were involved! I just don't know what to think now. It was my only climber I own and now I'm left with nothin. Doesn't leave a good feelin about your "fellow sportsmen" in ya thats for sure.

Incredable. Just amazes me that some would even consider this. Sorry for your loss.

man i know no sin is greater than another in God's eyes. but in country's eyes stealing is right behind murder and crimes against women and children. unless it is to eat stealing is cause for gettin your fingers cut off in my book. sorry for your loss jason.

Thanks guys. I agree. I guess that's just why I'm so peeved right now. It's just plain low to be a theif! Whenever you steal something it just says that you were'nt brought up properly and tells alot about your character. Because no matter what, even if you don't get caught by someone... YOU still know you did it. And I fee bad for you if that doesn't bother you if you do something like that. Ugh... a theif just makes my skin crawl!

Sorry to here! Yeah I know the feeling also!! Last year had my only climber stolen from me also! I hunted it and left it in overnight because I was going back in the morning and it was gone!! The only thing I can think of is that someone was nearby when I set up and seen that I left it there!! Pretty positive of who done it but hard to prove! Luckily I work with a guy who's wife went out and spent $300 on a API climber for him and he did'nt care for it so he gave it to me for $50! I agree with country "Cut thier fingers off"!!!

I agree 100 percent with everything said so far, this is a low down thing to do!You could have fried eggs on my head twice this year and now again to hear of your loss. We had a hunting cabin broken into and the barn at the same site,we can't find anything missing so far but it sets in the middle of 160 acres of private owned land with locked gates. They had to walk in 1/4 mile to get there. Now we have 2 new doors and a window to purchase plus the time to fix it! Just last week I had someone take some items from my driveway and that sick ,maddening feeling hit me again.I live in a remote area, never removed my keys from the ignition in 50 + years ,never locked my truck till now. Is this a sign of times changing or what? I believe it was people hunting that helped themselves at my place & this makes me feel even worse about it! What would (could ,should )a fellow do if we catch them?

I look at it this way, One hunter stealing another hunters stand is only one step away from poaching. Just a thought. Sorry for your loss. It makes me ill to think that someone thinks that was OK to do!

That STINKS man! I hate to hear stuff like that! I've been lucky so far(knock on wood) nothing of mine has ever been stolen....well someone did steal my kids basketball goal......boy did THAT ever tick me off!!!! But none of my hunting stuff has ever been taken. We leave our stands all year round, and it's not like we go check on them often. They're two hours from where I live.
I'm sorry to hear it GF. Just remember.....karma!......Lets hope nothing travels to the stand for that thief as it did for you!

I know your pain. We average 1 stolen and 1 trashed stand a year. We only let familiy hunt the farm so I guess the neighbors get mad and destroy our stuff, worse sometimes they cut the straps and the stand falls as you are getting in it. the only reason to do that is to hurt someone. We also would average 1 cow a year shot, not by accident either.

Dang man, that's a serious bumber dude! With today's technology, it shouldn't be too long before they start putting a GPS locator on those nice climbers. That could not only help you find them in the dark but, locate them if and when they are stolen!

I was brought up believing that no person was any better than another but it's times like this that I will make an exeption. Because friends, we ARE better than them. It takes one sorry piece of s**t to steal a mans treestand and it makes me sick to know that I'm sharing the woods with thievs when I go hunting. They could take 100 trophy bucks from your stand but will never have the honor of calling themselvs a hunter because hunters don't do that. True hunters are a rare breed and I'm proud to be assosiated with each and every one of you. Sorry about your stand GOB FATHER

That sucks ass man! I had my entire camp stolen a few years ago while out hunting. When my hunting buddy and myself came back to where camp was, the only thing left was a coffee pot, a few coals in the fire pit and the truck. They took the tent, sleeping bags, cooking gear, food everything. We had to leave and purchase all new equipment.
