Two days ago a fire was started on my Uncle Monte’s ranch. It started out up in the thick trees only a mile from his house. At first they thought it was contained until the wind picked up and switched directions. Now it is only 10% contained and has burned 3,200 acres. My uncle, his two kids that are 12, 14, also his wife’s parents and her brother had to be evacuated from the ranch also. There are firefighters from four counties and two states helping w/getting the flames under control. As the fire moves closer to Monte’s ranch I ask you for a prayer that everyone makes it through okay, along w/their homes. Things are extremely dry around here so a rain dance would be great too…
Thanks a bunch.

Prayers on the way! I've had a friend that went through a fire situation kinda like that and it was hard for her to get back on her feet... everything was lost. Insurance covered some and the kind people in town helped donate clothes etc. to help her out so I know it can be tough. They're in our thoughts and prayers wyo!

Hey Les, we'll keep them in our prayers & hope that the horses are ok. I was looking for links on the net & found the following: Main page: geomac.usgs.govMap of where all the fires are at: geomac.usgs.gov/viewer/viewer.htm(you may have to refresh the map & you can click to zoom in on a given area) I'm guessing it's the South Sundance Complex Fire at the Border of Wyoming & South Dakota.

Thanks a lot guys. I just got a call and the 11 evacuations are on an hour watch. In one hour they will be told if they can return to their homes or not. The fire is 78% contained due to the cool, humid conditions. The county firefighters are predicting it to be fully contained or even extinguished by late tonight or early morning!

I'm a little late here, but it sounds as though things are starting to be under control, but just in case....a little extra prayer to help

Which one of you guys did the rain dance and didn’t tell me? Later yesterday afternoon it clouded up and cooled off. The weather channel was closely watched all night and as each little green blob on there went north or south of us, we gave up on the rain and went to bed. I was awoken when I heard what sounded like rain on the roof so I got up stumbled around to the front door and looked out side. I thought, “whats this wet stuff falling from the sky.” It was rain! My uncle and his family got to return to their homes. Along with everyone else who got evacuated. No homes went to the flames. It came with in 100 yards of Monte‘s cabin. And the fire got a good 2” poured over it last night to fully rid any chances there were of the fire getting started back up. Thank you all for your prayers and to who ever did the rain dance .
