I have just one myself, from a goose. But I could go out to my refuge any given day and see 300 geese easily with bands and probably around 50-75 geese with collars on. Too bad they are locals and know where to and where not to fly.

goosereaper, 5 years for the banded Canada, try 15 years!!! My total to date: 1 mallard drake (1989) and 1 Canada goose (2006). I tell people that I shoot the legs off and the bands get lost.

Been hunting geese 13 or 14 years no bands no collars no greaters and no specks. Seen one duck band but not sure if I shot or my buddy so I let him have it. Talked to an outfitter that had several feet of bands and collars. Took another friend on his first goose hunt and he killed a speck. Lucky dog !!!!! Here we do not have many specks come through. But I will continue looking. I just like the sport of it.

I got my first band this year, from a goose. I was pretty excited about it. I definately hope to get many more in the season to come.

Two Bands. One Mallard...one snow goose collar. However, I have personally watched 7 bands be taken by my buddies standing right next to me over the last 10 yr's. Boy that will fire you up!!!

2 years ago was my first time out waterfowl hunting and the first shot i took was at a black duck which ended up being banded. i had no clue how rare that was so i kept the bird and went home and showed one of my hunting buddies and he about had a heart attack.
