I am going to do a little duck hunting on my land this year. I have a beaver pond they often fly into late in the evenings, and I was wondering what type of bait I could put out to attract some more ducks. Do they eat corn.

be careful.waterfowl are a federal regulated species and imma pretty sure baiting is illegal and if ya get caught ya face federal charges which are much more severe.i've got friends that waterfowl hunt ILL every year and it is U.S fish and wildlife that checks them and in one case a US marshal

I don't play to hunt over any bait, I just want to know of something to bring more in and keep them there. Just want to know of some food they will eat.

they will eat corn, I would look into possibly planting in some food source, like rice or duckweed or some other type of food that will come back anually for them..

better go read the regs on this one, something about putting out corn in an area with intent to hunt, you don't have to be over the corn for it to be illegal. just bringing them in and holding them might be enough. left over waste grain is okay, so is improving the habitat. if it were me i wouldn't put anything out to be safe, and that's not just because i'm against baiting, but because it may very well get you a fine. I'm not 100% sure on this, so PLEASE READ the regs I'd hate to see anyone get in trouble

We always poke around in the harvested corn stuble for ears that didn't get picked & if we find any (usually we do) we'l peel em back to show a little yellow & put a feeder decoy there. I also know a guy that I've hunted with before & he's actually got "decoy corn" that can apparently be purchased through multiple outlets. Looks like 1/2 ears of yellow corn that can be strategically placed in front of your feeder decoys. He said he's also seen guys use yellow beads as decoy soy beans. It's legal to decoy them.
