Duck season here has been pretty good so far. Just aquired a new pond or three this year and it chocker with geese, swans, paradise ducks, mallards and spoonies. This year the new law of steel shot came in. Some pro's and cons of it. What do you guys find with steel......good kill or wounding a lot? Day before opening:

I HATE steel. But I understand why nontox shot needs to be used. I can't afford bismuth/hevishot./etc. , So i am shooting a super full choke in order to cut down on the cripples. That may be a little excessive, but this choke was designed for turkeys, but would have been better for pheasants.... it doesn't pattern super full... more like a good full. Anyhow, downrange I lose a lot of knockdown power with the mod. choke. Even shootin' 3.5" mags. Also, I am jealous!!!! you are huntin' now!!! I have til september to start chasin geese... once again... LOL! THat pond looks awesome!
