It took owning my first bird dog to find out just how much time I have wasted prior! I would never go in the woods again without one! We hardly do anything without one sitting in the truck with us.

i only hunt about one time a year without my beagles as u said i am lost without them the only reason i go once without them is because it is on a farmers property and he only lets us hunt it adn we havn't ever asked about running beagles but next year i am cause i am tired of them briars and that music they make is what makes the hunt the best

I would not be caught w/o my dogs. I can't keep a boy friend because of them. If they get in the way of spending time in the woods with my dogs there gone!

Depends on what I am hunting........
Bird hunting..If I had a choice - take the dog or take the gun - I'd leave the gun behind and let others shoot.

I completely agree with you. To me, hunting is also a dog watching. I like to watch a good work of huntng dog.

We hunt birds with our dogs and love to do so but hunting mule deer and elk with dogs are something the conservation people frown on these days.
My wife hunts with a camera many times and leaves the gun at the house. We really just enjoy watching the dogs work, go on point and retrieve when I shoot birds.

The only hunting I have done with dogs has been upland birds. I have hunted without them before I got my first dog. Now I would rather stay home then hunt without my dog. Beside being a great hunting buddy, my opinion is that they are the essence of upland bird hunting. Count me in as one who hunts with dogs. --KT

I bird hunt with my dogs, but not turkey or deer. I just love to still hunt.
