What is your preferred broadhead? And how many different kinds have you tried?

I have kept a fixed 3 blade head in my quiver for the last 25 years, have used several brands, as of now and for the last 5 to 7 years it has been the Cabelas Lazer Pro Mag. Took my first Bow turkey in 1975 with a Bear Broadhead, shot from a ecurve, the old standby in those days, went to Black Diamonds, Kolpin,Muzzy, Rocky Mountain, have tried Wasp. The Wasp were great on turkey for some reason, shot at least 15 turkey with them, tear huge hole. The 4 blade heads never seemed to help me much so stayed with the 3 blade. I like the .027 thick blades or heavier is even better. When the expandables came out years back I saw many of them fail, never have wanted to chance them since although I've never owned one. When my arrow is on it's way toward an animal I want to know it is ready to cut, just OLD Fashioned I reckon or just OLD

They have more than proven themselves for many years. And to me as long as they are slicin and doin some damage,no matter what brand, they are good. I have shot mechanicals for quite a few years. I shot the rockets for 12 or 15 yrs. Two years ago I couldn't find any rockets around here. So I decided to try rage two blades. Can honestly say I have never had a problem with either. Those rage's make a heck of a hole. Don't think I'd use them on say elk or moose. If I were to ever hunt those animals??

Was shooting the Muzzy MX3s last year but just switched to the new NAP Bloodrunner 2 blade....I like the design and they really do fly just the same as my practice tips....and my son switched this year to the 2 blade RAGE and just killed a big jake with those....OMG!!! it was a nasty wound...the bird never moved from his final resting place!!

I REALLY HAVE NOTHING TO COMPARE IT TO CAUSE I JUST KILLED MY FIRST DEER WITH A BOW THIS MORNING. BUT I WILL SAY AFTER SEEING THE CARNAGE INFLICTED BY THAT ''RAGE'' 3 BLADE EXPANDABLE, I'LL NEVER USE NOTHIN ELSE. THE DEER JUMPED JUST AS I RELEASED AND I HIT HER IN THE HAM. I THAUGHT ''OH CRAP, I'LL NEVER FIND THAT ONE''. WELL, LESS THAN 50 YDS AND AND A BLOOD TRAIL THAT YOU COULD SEE FROM SPACE LATER, THERE SHE WAS DEAD AS A HAMMER. GOOGLE ''RAGE BROUDHEADS'' AND CLICK ON UNSENCERED FOOTAGE AND YOU'LL SEE WHAT I'M TALKIN ABOUT.

I shoot the Rocket steelheads and the wasp JakHammer SSTs.
3 blade Rage are illegal here in TN and several other states, make sure you check your state laws. They are considered "barbed" by some states because the blades do not easily retract after deploying allowing the arrow to easily come out of the deer. BS if you ask me, but the law no the less. There are other heads like the NAP bloodrunner and G5 expendables that are also not allowed.
I am going to switch to a 2 blade flat fixed head next year. I have a buddy using them and they make holes like the rage, but with better penetration at lower KE set-ups. I have a short draw length so my KE is on the low side even at 70 pounds.

Yeah the 3 blades are illegal here too. I have fixed two blade magnus broadheads that were given to me. Think i'm gonna use them when I decide on a new recurve next year.. There are definitely some very good fixed bladed broadheads on the market.
