Had a hell of a good hunt last night.
4:00 I get into my stand and begin playing blackjack. 4:30 I spot movement and I see 5 does heading my way. I get up and ready my bow. I am a little nervous this being the first time I have them going in this close. As I am standing there I have a buck come right under my stand! I let him walk because he is young.
10 minutes later the does get spooked by something and I decide to take a 25 yard shot at one of them. SHe ducks and my arrow hits the ground.Grrrrrrr.
At this point I am thinking that I might as well get down and get my arrow so that I dont have to hunt for it in the dark. I settle down and decide to just hang tight and begin my second round of Blackjack.5:00 I am very happy I decided to wait because I see another herd coming my way! First does heads behind some brush so I dont get a shot, but her sister comes right to me. I draw and nail her at 15 yards. She jumps walks 3 steps and begins the dance of death. 3 more does appear now,looking around wondering what the hecks up. I pull another arrow out and let it fly on another does.This time the arrow hits her high on one side and comes out about were her lung is on the other and she is hauling tail.2 does are still standing there! I reach for my third arrow to no avail because I had let it fly earlier and I am forced to watch the other 2 just wonder off.
Man was I pumped!!
Got down and gutted my first deer and started a short track on the other just to get it sarted before dark. Had good blood for awhile, then it wained. Came back 1 hour 1/2 later and began the track, blood started to get thin and I tracked her for about 1/4 mile. I am worried I lost her as it would appear that I may have hit thayt cavity above the lungs which ticks me off.Going out this a.m to continue.
It was an exciting hunt.

No joy, tracked until 3pm. Lost blood, found it 200 yards later. Followed her across the highway and lost her again in the beans. By the time I had finished I was about 1 mile away from where she was shot. Grrrr
