wall2048, I'd be single again if i said something like that to my better half Yeah i get the speech, that's why i'm home right now , actually I just got layed off from work so I'm going to hunt during the week and spend time with my honey on the weekends, okay so i've spent just about all morning on this computer, but at least i'm ten feet from her, that's good enough for her today anyway, Packers play today so she's watching the Sherman Show and Fox sports normally something about the house chores and cleaning gets thrown into the mix of the speech as well, never quite sure all that is mentioned as i am thinking about hunting during the speech.

It's good to know that I am not alone. Mine asked last night what I was doing this week-end and I said I was going to the woods on Friday and I wouldn't be home until Monday, you want to go with me? Of course we have been married long enough that we have just become room-mates. She stays upstairs in front of the boob-tube and I stay downstairs and read all this great stuff you guys write. That's what marriage is supposed to be, right? Rich

Aw heck! Guys, you just have the wrong kind of woman. I went down to a holler down on the KY/TN border and got me a good one-- traded an old mountain woman a microwave for her. She sees it different than all your city women.
To her, she's just so grateful that I come home on a regular basis, that I'm sober when I walk in the door, and that I don't beat her-- she's happy to begrudge me my deer and turkey hunting.
This is a true story: We were engaged to be married, and I had applied to the Beaver Creek quota hunt that year on her insistence. She'd had me do it-- she said guys applied for years to hunt Beaver Creek, and that I needed to get started if I was ever going to get a chance to hunt. Sometime after that, we made plans to fly to Jamaica to get married over Halloween. A few weeks before that, a letter came from KY Div of Wildlife saying I'd been drawn for the Beaver Creek Hunt. The hunt was due to start on the day we were fixing to be married.
I waited until she got home from work, and showed her the letter. She wrapped her arms around me and kissed me and congratulated me. I then made her read the date: Nov 1 and 2. She didn't blink an eye.
"Darlin, that's okay." she said. "We can get married anytime. You only get to hunt Beaver Creek only once."
With that, I vowed to take her to Jamaica -- I was NOT going to lose that kind of woman.

You got married in Jamica? So did I what year and where? WE got hitched in 1997 in Montego Bay at Breezes. Nov.22nd was the date. My wife is also very cool, I go deer hunting on our anniversary every year, she says it is just a day on the calander. I called her from the check station about 3 years ago on our anniversary when I killed a pretty fair 9 pointer. First thing I said was "Happy Anniversary" really loud so all the other hunters could hear me. Tehy did not believe me so I called her back so they could ask her. They were definitely envious of the wife and the deer that day! LOL

Hey guys, it's not just the women who complain. I had a husband who would whine all the time about supper being late if I stopped after work to shoot my bow. I don't even want to get into the arguments about me going hunting. Guess what....now he's my EX-husband.
