Its rare we see mature 6 points in Wisconsin. I filmed this one a couple nights ago in a public marsh. I glass this area and film deer there alot, and have never seen this one before. Average brows, heavy beams, about an 18 inch spread but just two big tines off each beam.

Do they get shot before they mature??Some counties in Texas have gone to a size limit /restrictions for shooting non mature bucks/ Tim

The one farm we hunt in suburban baltimore, we notice a lot of 2.5 and 3.5 yr. old 6 points. I almost got a shot at one last season... 50 yds..... he was about 17 inside with G-1s about 6 inches and G-2s about 10-11 inches... nice deer... just lacking in points...

Adult 6 pointers are rare here... Once they reach 2 years old they normally have at least 8 points.

I've seen a few six pointers in the two year class, but never anything older and never anything that big, of the six pointers that i have seen only one was "decent" meaning if it had eight it would have scored around 105'ish, it was missing the brow tines, something i have seen fairly common up near Ino, Wi.
thanx for the pix, gets me going.

I miss the days of spotting deer. Illegal to even shine fields in MO now. Weapons or not, they will write you up for it in a heartbeat!

Thats a shame!! Shineing is a great past time the whole family can enjoy. It is also a great scouting aid. It is really nice to know which bucks live on which propertys. Outlawing shineing is not going to stop poachers. Its like outlawing guns to stop crime. Most poachers adventually get caught any way.

In the State ground I hunt they have no restrictions on points,If ya'll get a deer 3 1/2 yrs old ya'll got a old deer. Its a shame because you let it go & the next hunter will take it. In some zone's they have too have 3pts on one side.

That is a huge 6 point . They have also outlawed all spotlighting in KY we use to be able to shine as long as you had no weapon in your presence.

Nice pic! We have big six points show up where we hunt. They don't have brow tines.
