Ok Fellas let me see if I can share a few predator calls with ya. If you have any questions feel free to ask. THese are just some of my customs, not included are my production calls, and howlers. SOme of the pictures arent all that great.
These three calls were made by Deschner & Son and were made for the hunters in mind. I know theres some out there that have sticker labels. Not sure if they are prior or later to these calls, but I need one.
These first three calls are all made by Gonhuntin. The first two were custom made for a fella by the name of CG in Ohio, and are reportedly the first two GH offered for sale to the public. The second and taller call was custom made to be loud and fit a gloved hand for winter calling. The third I bought myself at a later date. All three calls are well finished and sound great.!!! The next call I got from Kurt Bryan. This call was more bang for its buck for sure. I knew I would be getting a good call coming from Kurt but this one exceed my expectations. It sounds great, is loud, very nicely finished and is different then any other call that I have in the fact that it doesnt sound like the call is coming from you. It kinda sounds like its projected out in front of you. Must be in the design? Kurt ya might be on to something here. The last call is from one of my personal favorites Steve Barbour. Steve spins a awesome call and I have a few more pictured later. This call is made from Sapale(SP?) and its one of those woods that pictures just don't do justice for, and as usual it sounds........AWESOME!
Ok, the first four are spun by Larry Landenberger or as we know him Ridgeviewer Custom Calls. The first call is a Cocobola call with an Ebony tone board. I have two different tone boards for this call. The one you see which gives a lot of dominant dog sounds and some nice jackrabbit type sounds. The second tone board which is the same as the Sapele open reed perty much covers the rest of the sounds and is nicely done. (. This call is beautiful to boot.) And this call is one of only two that don't have the "R" emblem. The lnext two calls are a Sapele Matched and they were entered in the novice, matched set, division of the 2005 Fancy Call Contest. They are also Black Dot Ridge's. The mouthpiece and tone board are both made of water buffalo horn. He intentionally turned the removable, closed reed, mouthpiece to expose, and highlight the white streaks that can be seen within the layers of the horn. The removable, open reed, tone board, is his own design but he was sure to let me know, that he gives special thanks to Jeff Savoie AKA Krusty of Krusty Kriers for the inspiration of the re curved styling. Of course both these calls have the Black Dot/Brass Ridgeviewer Medallion, and the inside barrels are turned, leaving a rolled, rim inside. (Cool but not sure how it’s done) The pokie-dotted call as I called it is actually made from Banksia Pod (Don’t ask I don’t know) This call was built specifically for the 2005 Fancy Call Contest, in St Charles, Illinois. Larry built this call using the pod in hopes of doing something never seen before in the Fancy Call Contest. He went for the larger look for the show only hoping it would add to the visual impact of the pod features. The bottom half of the call is African Blackwood, the center and majority of the call is the Banksia Pod, and the mouthpiece is made from Water Buffalo Horn. While this particular call was designed for the show and not really for hunting, it’s usable for sure and sounds great. The craftsmanship on this thing is of serious quality, and I’m for sure honored to have it. Oops almost forgot that logo. It’s a Black Dot/Brass medallion that is inlaid into the call (No sticker) and no mistaken this call 50 years down the road. The last call is an Art Beauchamp Predator Call made by Rick Kagerer.
