That gun is for reaching out there a ways.I have better suited guns for up close and personal. But i also have Guillie netting to cover it yote hunting. And 80% of my hunting is from a tree stand too.And it just didn't look right with a matte scope

You ever hear of a " Drop-in-Sator" (bullet compensator) once that 308 is set at 100yds i can aim dead on out to 500 yds. winmag First, that's a GREAT looking rig!!! I was looking at the Drop-in-Sator about a year ago when I had my BAR 30-06, but I traded it in this spring on a Remington 700 MTN LSS in 7mm08. I did put a bullet drop compensating scope on the 7mm-08 though. It's a Burris 3-9x40 with the Ballistic Plex reticle. You sight these dead on at 100Yds for standard calibers (200Yds for mags),then use the additional aim points on the virticle cross hair for 200, 300, 400 & 500 Yd shots. (Not that I would ever take a shot on game out that far) Here is a pic of the BPlex reticle Sighted in dead on at 100 Yds, I've tested a couple of loads at 200 Yds and shots were dead on using the first aim point. The longest burm at our range is 200 Yds, so I haven't been able to test at the longer ranges. Here is a pic of a group shot with 140 Grn Sierra Game Kings at 200 Yds using the first aim point. Dark lines = 1/2", lighter lines are 1/4" I like the idea of being able to sight in dead on at 100 Yds but still being able to take the long shot when needed using the additional aim points. My idea of a "Brush Gun" is one with which you can shoot between the twiggs & limbs instead of through them. Sighted in dead on at 100 Yds, instead of 2 or 3 inches high, allows you to thread the needle when you need to. Love a bullet drop compensating scope!!!! firstshot ------------------------------------------ Make your first shot count!

With the built in comp there is no hand adjustment as you say. With the drop in sator i bought a couple other rings with them.for 50 gr in the 223.150 for the 270 and i load the 308 to shot the same vel. as the 270 and the comp works with that cal also.Need a third comp. I have shot mine at our made made range. We have 400 yds.I put out a hand held propane torch tank(empty) at 350 yds and hit it 5 for 5.I know on the web site guys have taken dogs at 600+ with the comps.

WinMag thats a fine rig Ive shoot long distance to years competitively I may add. That rig will shoot mighty far and well, good choice of scope and the round is dang good. 308 prime for long range. I shoot a 308 Win in a custom built "Long Range Tactical Rifle" buit on a 700 Action with a heavy Douglas Tactical Barrel and Leupold Tactical Scope. Snipers perfer the round and they have should great range. Ive shoot mine up to 700 yards, put them in a 6 inch pie plate Again Good lookin Rig Bro
