Nice work Michelle!! Are any of the trophies yours or do they all belong to customers? I do taxidermy too and never seem to find the time to mount my own stuff.

Nope none of them are mine. All of them belong to customers. I have never shot anything worth mounting. Biggest deer I've ever shot was a 125lbs Blacktail Deer. It was just a Forky. I do buy different animals from other taxidermist to mount when I am all caught up with things in the shop and am bored. I am currently trying to get ahold of a set of 65" Moose sheds to mount. I have a freind in Florida that does taxidermy and he is fixing to send me a Caribou cape all I have to do is locate and buy some horns for it. I also have a black Coyote but some one local gave it to me. havn't decided on how I want to mount the Coyote yet.

I'm sure the elk and the moose will be worth the price in showing off your work to potential customers.
There are so many different coyote forms it does make it hard to decide.....then there's always casting your own form--that's fun too.
I've haven't hunted blacktail yet so that would be a huge trophy to me.....Where did you go to hunt blktail?

Blacktail are only located along the West coast..... California up to Alaska.......Just like a Couse Deer looks like a little Whitetail...a Blacktail looks like a little Mule Deer. The average buck is probably 125 lbs.....but I have herd in places they are a bit bigger...

Actually I don't have any pictures of Turkey's.. I have never done one. I was more into the Big game animals, small game animals, and fish than I was Birds. I mainly specialize in Wild Hogs and Deer. Just got into doing birds this year.. I have a Turkey in the freezer and I will post pics of him as soon as I get him done.

I know the feeling about that.I get half the fee up front before I even think about doing a large animal.I got stuck with a few.The people want them done in a day, don't work that way. Then when they have to wait their turn, the novelty wears off and money spent else where.I have no problems with that anymore. They come for their mounts on time. I've had mounts on hold for as long as a year because of so many.I try to cut back on mounting large orders this way I can keep up with the demand and saves a "Lot Of Stress" Ohh yeah by the way I bought the Elk in the picture above...Cost me bout $450. The Moose will probably be close to $700.
