It is with great pride that I write this thread today. You see, I sat back and looked at all that this site has become and have become humbled in many ways. Ways that have brought me appreciation like never before. And it's the great members of this forum that make it what it is today! For that, I'm forever thankful for all the great times that have been shared and the stories that have been told that keep me coming back for more!
Remember, that I too am a member here. I'll never forget that. I was the very first member to register in what would become known as the Racks & Spurs Club. And at that time, never did I anticipate something as great as this!
Ya know... I love my outdoor sports. Love it with a passion. There aint nothin better to me! When I'm outdoors, in God's Country... well, I'm just flat out in heaven! I don't claim to be an "expert", nor am I flawless in my ways. And I hope that it'll never become expected of me that I will be. Can you imagine that pressure? lol. Nope, I'm just an everyday Joe that finds myself loading the pages of this here forum no different than you. Always looking to better myself and my experiences shared in the woods and on the waters. I like to think that I can enjoy this place no different than you... no matter how large we become... I'll always be that member, the one that clicked the button first and said "I want to be a part of this".
We've met our opposition in many ways, shapes and forms. And what gets me is that a majority of it, has come from our own kind! Crazy! It's just crazy to me. But I've found that there are some that are wolves in sheep's clothing that portray that they're on our side, but only do damage by trying to bring us down for their own selfish agenda. Can you imagine how this looks to the general public? Can you imagine how happy the antis are when the see this among us?? It just baffles me to say the least... and I can't, for the life of me, figure out how to rid our sport of these "black sheep" that make us look bad.
Think about how many times you've heard "so and so" say something to you in a negative tone or manner about "someone". Think about that for just one second. Think to yourself... "What motives do they have behind their statements?". More than likely, at the very core, these individuals DO NOT represent our community as a whole, but rather those who only care about themselves and their own personal gain. Steer clear of these people... they'll only bring you down.
The Racks & Spurs Club is a place that I feel has evolved over the last 2 years into a place that is "family firendly" and full of information at the click of a button. It is technology at it's finest. And I, as the owner of this organization, am filled with PRIDE that this website... out of the many... MANY sites out there today has risen to the top and has become considered a "premier, quality, active forum". It's a focus, it's dedication, and it's the type of sportsmen and sportswomen that YOU are that make it what it is today! We are making history whether you realize it or not.
Think of all the great moments that have been shared on here. Just in the last two years alone I can't count how many friendships have been made and how much of an impact we've had on the hunting community as a whole. The veteran members here will tell you that they have become better in their ways because of the things learned and shared here. And this is only the begining my friends!
R&S is not just about me, or one single person... it's about our HERITAGE. Our ethics afield and how we are going to enstill them upon the youth. We have a duty to pass on the torch and do so in a responsible, and honorable way. And we will do this... together. It has always been my number one goal from the concept that came from what is now known as the Racks & Spurs Club.... in the very begining. And it is with this in mind that I call to you, our valued members, that we RISE to the occassion and take on the opposition and show them that we are a family, that we are united, and that we follow the faith of our hearts and the leadership of GOD. That we wil not faulter to those who try to bring us down... whether it be the antis themself or the ones who try to fake their way into our house "claiming" to be an outdoor enthuisiast. No, not here my friend. We will see through you. I stand behind each and everyone of you. I stand for the values you've shown to be what's worth fighting for. I ask you to do the same... I ask you to believe in what's right... I ask you to believe in our mission... and most importantly, I ask you be a part of something great.
I'm honored to be among such great company here, and with all the NEW and exciting changes that have unfolded for our organization... in such short time, I'm elated to see how expansive our efforts are reaching and productive we've become in our ways! We are a much different, much stronger, and much more enjoyable place to spend your time online among like minded individuals than we were only a year ago! Think about that... think about what progress we've made... and then... think about how much more we're going to do... together, in our future here at the Racks & Spurs Club!
